Gavyn felt like all he did was play dolls lately. He loved his children, dearly, but Ansleigh was going to drive him mad. He was sick of her thrusting a doll in his face and demanding that he play house with her. He games also never made sense to him and often he ended up playing a single father while the mother laid under a blanket completely covered. He wondered if that was supposed to mean something, if that was perhaps how Ansleigh perceived his life to be.
Today wouldn't be a day of dolls though. No, today was going to be a day of alcohol and manly things if he got his say. He needed to get away from the ribbon and lace. Owen was going to be that escape. Well just as long as he didn't let Ansleigh know that he was coming. If she figured it out then there was a good chance that he'd get roped into a game full of frilly, girly things as well.
"Nixy!" And with a pop the elf was standing in front of Gavyn, awaiting his orders. "I need you to watch the children this afternoon. Try to keep Ansleigh distracted and come and get me only if it is something you can't handle." He knew that Nixy would know exactly what he could and couldn't handle and so he felt assured that everything would be fine. The elf simply gave a bob of his head before popping away again, presumably to deal with the kids.
With that done he made his way to the kitchen, grabbing a case of beer from the cooler and then a few bags of chips to sit out. He took both things to the front sitting room and now it was only a matter of waiting for Owen to show up. "Tick tock, old friend. I'm in serious need to do something with someone other than a three year old."
